Marion Davies

Largely forgotten star of the 1920s, she is often remembered for being the wife of mogul W R Hearst.
Even during her career, her high-profile social life often obscured her professional career. In her posthumously published memoirs, Davies claimed she wasn’t an actress, knew nothing about politics, and described herself as a “silly, giggly idiot,” but this is in keeping with her modest, self-deprecating personality.

  1. Marion was Hearst’s mistress, not wife. His wife refused to grant him a divorce so he lived w/Marion at San Simon. Now the funny thing about that is…. Hearst did NOT allow unwed couples to sleep together when they visited him at the castle. Can you say hypocrite? I knew that you could.
