A Rare Set of Images of Carole Lombard applying her Make-up –

Thanks to the blog Carole and Co for featuring these images – originally from Life Magazine.

Difficult to estimate the year as Carole resolutely stuck to the same natural wavy hairstyle for most of the 1930’s but I would estimate these images were taken in late 1930’s possibly even 1940. The first image sees Carole with a powder base, the second applying mascara.

The third – eyebrow pencil and the final shot of a finished look.

There is something about the allure of Carole Lombard that still shimmers all these years later. Dying tragically young in a plane crash in 1942.
