A parchment beige wool jersey sports frock is Ann’s first choice. Designed by LA’s Louella Ballerino, it is a two piece eye-catcher. The blouse, which features soft neckline, shoulder and cuff gathers for a trim, tucks into a bias skirt.

Ann’s trim dressmaker suit of beige and brown checks (above left) is distinguished by a pert upstanding collar, clever three-button closing and novel shoulder cut. The jacket tops a beige cashmere sweater; pearls are worn outside.
Next – black and white are smartly contrasted in Ann’s silk suit ( right). The skirt is black crepe; the jacket, with wide revers and single button closing, is faille. For a smart finish, there’s a high-neck white crepe blouse

Her evening dress of rustling black taffeta is accented with snowy white starched lace in old fashioned style and Ann wears a black velvet bow in her hair just as her grandmother once did. Gown designed again by Louella Ballerino of Los Angeles.
To the right above – crisp collars and cuffs of embroidered white pique set off Ann’s lovely sports frock of heavenly blue – and how heavenly when contrasted with the dark haired beauty of Miss Rutherford. Exaggerated patch pockets with welt openings trim the blouse, which joins the skirt with an inset waistband.

Lovely styles heralding a good summer in 1940s fashion for women.

That’s all !
