It’s not often you see a real artist at work – or a make-up artist for that matter
Her YouTube channel The Makeup Chair has a mind numbing 423,613 subscribers, yet the person behind
this remarkable Irish YouTube success story is a pleasant un-assuming young woman who even admitted to being “a little nervous” before the event.

The woman in question is Sineady Cady – whose appearance at Magees Pharmacy in Letterkenny
created quite a stir amongst local make-up enthusiasts.
Glamourdaze took a wee break from our dusty vaults of vintage era make-up to meet Sineady and to sneak a video of the Blank Canvas Cosmetics event which she was promoting and to meet the woman herself.

Sineady began her YouTube life some five years ago with a humble video entitled “Makeup – Are you warm or cool ???” followed
by a string of Britney Spears tutorials. Since then her official channel The Makeup Chair has garnered a staggering 423,613 subscribers with over 40 million views and rising. She is now officially Ireland’s most subscribed female YouTuber.
“What the #@& ?? ” I asked her.
” Umm – well – yeah – it’s crazy!” says she.
Comparing notes about the mystical art of blogging and social marketing, it seemed we shared similar bemusement at the mysterious ways of the web. ” I can never tell what’s going to be popular with my subscribers” she said ” often the tutorials I really labour over don’t get the views I want and then other videos really take off.”

Accompanying her on the day was Una from Blank Canvas Cosmetics who was kitting her out like a Spitfire pilot about to fly in to battle, with an impressive array of brushes and palettes.
The first demo was about to start and I furtively slunk in to a corner to shoot Sineady at work. By the way I didn’t get the name of the pretty young woman who was modelling for Sineady but I’ll amend that as soon as I can.
Well done to Magees Pharmacy too for staging this event. Their beauty parlour is the frequent haunt of make-up buts across the north-west of Ireland.
