All the dresses from 1929 – up to Cate Blanchett’s 2014 dress –
This clever Best Actress Oscar Dresses Infographic stretches back to 1929 – the year of the first Academy Awards – created by the team of Mediarun Digital.
From the first winner Janet Gaynor’s Peter Pan collar dress to Cate Blanchett’s gorgeous Armani Prive gown
While putting the project together – they found it interesting how styles change – the classic elegance of the 1950s – the bitchy love hate fashions of the 1980s – the simplicity of dresses in the early years of the Oscars when compared to the opulent gowns being worn today. Well done to all at MediaRun for such a clever idea. Thanks to Carla Challis of the BT Fashion blog for drawing this to my attention!
Incidentally Carla will be featuring some of our archive vintage makeup films soon – so check out her excellent blog – her style reports are diverting and very enjoyable.
